Who is AIAG?
AIAG is the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1982. Originally, it was an organization aimed at developing recommendations and a framework for improving quality for North American automotive manufactures. Over time their mission grew to encompass product quality standards, barcode and RFID standards, materials management, EDI, returnable containers and packaging systems, and regulatory and customs issues.
AIAG mission is to “enable collaboration within the automotive and related industries and to provide access to information, education and the tools needed so our stakeholders can continually improve the environment in which they operate”.
How is AIAG involved in IATF 16949?
IATF 16949 is the automotive industry’s most widely used international standard for quality management, designed by IATF. This latest version was developed with an unprecedented level of industry feedback and engagement by AIAG members representing North America.
